At least eight policemen were injured after Al-Shabaab militants ambushed their vehicles at Yumbis in Fafi sub-county, Garissa County.

Police officers who escaped the Monday night attack said four police vehicles were burnt by the militants.
The police officers were in a convoy of four vehicles heading to Yumbis hours after their colleagues were injured in another attack on Monday afternoon.
Jarajila Member of Garissa County Assembly Mahat Osman said the policemen managed to get to Yumbis village where they spent the night.
Garissa County Commissioner Mr James Kianda however said only five police officers out of the 30 deployed to Yumbis were injured.
He said three vehicles were burnt by Al-Shabaab militants after the officers disembarked and pursued them on foot.
One of the vehicles was burnt in an earlier attack Monday afternoon.
In the Monday afternoon attack, three police officers were injured after their vehicle ran over a land mine.
Mr Osman said the police officers were heading to Yumbis Location when the vehicle ran over the land mine at Yarey.
He said the injured officers were taken to Garissa Referral Hospital.
The attack on police officers comes a week after Al-Shabaab militants attacked Yumbis Village and preached to locals for hours.
